Episode 5: End Of Exams
So, first semester exams are over – queue happy dance and jumping for joy! For many it’s a short reprieve until you meet again at the end of semester 2 (sorry for bringing that up), but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate the end of these exams right now (and give yourself a good old pat on the back while you’re at it, for making it through in one piece!)
Events To Help You Celebrate
In the spirit of celebration and blowing off steam (before you have to get back into learning everything you need to know for semester 2 exams), we thought we’d pull together some of the top offerings from the LSU and around Loughborough to help you celebrate being free of exam stress (for the next few months at least).
LSU’s Give It A Go Week 2016
Give it a Go (GIAG) week gives you the chance to try a taster session of an activity or society that you might want to join. From Monday 25th – Sunday 31st January, GIAG will be giving you the opportunity to experience something completely new, outside your usual comfort zone. There’s something for everyone, from Yoga to Landscaping and Gardening, Bhangra to Snooker and Pool! Most importantly, all activities are completely free! For more info head over to the LSU GIAG page or join the facebook event for news and updates.
Hey Ewe: Massaoke – Wednesday 27th January 2016
What better way to wrap up the final day of exams, blow off some steam and dump that lingering exam stress, than belting out some of the best songs ever written with your mates?! Take a live band, put them on a stage with a big screen with the words on, and encourage the crowd to sing along with hit after hit, and you’ve got Massaoke!
LSU, 10:45pm – 3:00am, Entry: £3.50 NUS / £5.50 Non NUS / Free for Platinum members. Full event details available over at LSU Events.
It’s A Gin Thing – Thursday 28th January 2016
If you’re looking for something a little more sophisticated to help celebrate your freedom from exams, The Orange Tree in Bedford Square are putting on a gin tasting night on Thursday 28th January, 8pm-12am. The evening is all about sampling the gins (from local distillery 45 West), enjoying some special cocktails and learning a bit more about gin and how it’s made.
There’ll be local DJ Sleazy Wonder providing funk, soul and laid back tunes and the best part is entry is free! Full info available at Love Loughborough.
